Biography
Dr. Daniel B. Litvin is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus Physics in the Eberly College of Science. He has published over one hundred and twenty scientific publications including five books and received research support from the National Science Foundation and the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Litvin has been awarded an Amoco Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, a Penn State Berks Outstanding Teaching Award, and a Penn State Berks Outstanding Researcher Award.
His current research interests include the symmetry-based prediction of physical properties of crystals and group theoretical applications in physics and crystallography. He is a member of the Commissions on Crystallographic Nomenclature, on International Tables, on Magnetic Structures, and a consultant to the Commission on Mathematical and Theoretical Crystallography of the IUCr: The International Union of Crystallography.
